- Abstract : A bilayer of sol‐gel films is made to dewet by exposure to ethanol solvent. The top hydrophilic silica film dewets into bumps on the bottom hydrophobic silica film. The result is a patterned surface that facilitates the condensation and growth of water droplets from the atmosphere. The resulting patterns are more robust and are less sticky to water droplets than similarly produced polymer patterns. In the cover image, a cartoon of water droplets is superimposed on a real optical micrographs of a sol‐gel micrometric pattern. More details can be found in article number1801629 by Elena Colusso, Alessandro Martucci, and Chiara Neto.
