Graphical abstract: Highlights: Simplicity. Mild conditions, short reaction times, easy work-up and excellent yields. Extendable for other CH-acids. One-pot and catalyst-free synthesis of new fused heterocyclic compounds. H2 O/EtOH as solvent, no chromatography. Abstract: The synthesis of novel class of 1 H -pyrrolo[1, 2- a ]fused[1, 3]diazaheterocycle derivatives by using heterocyclic nitroketene aminals, arylglyoxal monohydrates and CH acids such as 2-hydroxy-1, 4-naphthoquinone and dimedone has been developed. The chemo/regioselective heterocyclization has been confirmed spectroscopically, which agree with the proposed structures. This method has some advantages including short reaction times, highly regioselective, excellent yields and simple work-up procedure.
