Abstract

Abstract : The development of a practical and efficient combinatorial synthesis of γ‐lactams from 1, 3‐dicarbonyl‐Ugi 4‐CR adducts by means of a radical cyclization–oxyamination process promoted by ammonium persulfate and TEMPO is described. The two‐step methodology allows the construction of a series of polysubstituted γ‐lactams with a high atom economy in good to excellent yields under mild reaction conditions. Abstract : An efficient synthesis of γ‐lactams from 1, 3‐dicarbonyl‐Ugi 4‐CR adducts through a radical cyclization–oxyamination process prompted by ammonium persulfate has been developed. The methodology allows the construction of a series of polysubstituted γ‐lactams with a high atom economy in good to excellent yields.
