Abstract

Summary: On the basis of public good game model, this paper allows for the two information states: complete and incomplete information structures, as well as the two ways of behavioral decision: strategic substitutes and strategic complements. Moreover, it systematically analyzes the influences of different social networks on individual behavioral decision for environmental protection. It is found by this study that (1) there is a more stable and effective equilibrium state for individuals to make decision by the strategic complements against the strategic substitutes in complete information structure; (2) in incomplete information structure, the individual decision behavior and earnings depend on the degree and connectivity of network structure. The findings are of practical significance for analyzing the influence of inherent psychological factors and external environmental factors on individuals' decision‐making for environmental protection.
