- Abstract: A wide variety of 3‐methyleneisoindolin‐1‐ones have been prepared by annulation of methyl 2‐acylbenzoates with amines or ammonium acetate. The reactions proceeded smoothly to afford the desired products in up to quantitative yields. Abstract : Annulation of methyl 2‐acylbenzoates with amines or ammonium acetate provided a large variety of 3‐methylene‐isoindolin‐1‐ones in up to quantitative yields.
