- Abstract: The fossil burrow Dolopichnus, capped by an ash layer, was collected ∼0.6 m below the Permian–Triassic Boundary at the Lung Cam section in North Vietnam. The burrow occurs at the top of Bed 9, directly below the stepped extinction in foraminifera that marks initiation of the global perturbations related to the end-Permian extinction event. Dolopichnus is a plug-shaped burrow, possessing lining and fills. This specimen was found capped by an undisrupted bentonite layer. The main chamber has internal structure throughout indicative of benthic organisms overcoming living pressures of repeated ash falls, which can be applied to paleoenvironmental research across different regions and times, including the recent.
