Abstract

Abstract : ( N Engl J Med . 2018;379:1691–1693) Postpartum care today in the United States generally consists of an "arbitrary 6-week check." Consequently, in April 2018, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) called for a new paradigm for postpartum care, which extends the 6-week postpartum single-visit to a 12-week "4th trimester" and reframes postpartum care as an ongoing, individualized process.
