- Abstract : A superhydrophobic Pt–Al2 O3 /Al surface with excellent application characteristics has been fabricated on an aluminium substrate by a chemical method and annealing process. Abstract : Herein, a superhydrophobic Pt nanoparticle surface was fabricated on an aluminum substrate by a chemical method and thermal annealing process. The resulting surfaces demonstrated superhydrophobicity with the static water contact (WCA) of 162 ± 1° and dynamic sliding angle of about 2°. The resulting superhydrophobic surface exhibited wonderful self-cleaning, roll-down, super buoyancy, corrosion protection, anti-icing and excellent catalytic properties, and thus, it might have significant importance for further productive applications in many research and industrial fields. Moreover, the fabricated superhydrophobic surface possesses the fundamental ability to decrease the corrosion current density of surfaces by approximately more than 3.27 times in magnitude as compared to the untreated Al substrate.
