- Abstract: Anisakidosis is an acute and, less commonly, chronic gastrointestinal tract disease caused by the ingestion of nematode larvae contained within raw or undercooked seafood. We describe a case of chronic gastric anisakidosis diagnosed by endoscopic resection of submucosal nodules in a patient with a multi-year history of epigastric abdominal pain. This case illustrates the importance of maintaining a high index of suspicion for this diagnosis, even in patients with a remote history of seafood consumption or a chronic presentation of abdominal pain.
