Abstract

Abstract: The present article reports the growth of single crystals of a complex L-Histidine with picric acid (LHDP) by solution growth (slow evaporation) method at room temperature. The structure of the grown crystal determined by X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) reveals that it belongs to the monoclinic system with space group P21, and the cell parameter values. Vibrational patterns and the good crystallinity were indicated by X-ray diffraction method. The structural, thermal, optical and mechanical properties were studied for the grown crystal. The calculated results of first Order hyperpolarizability confirm that these molecules are good non-linear optical materials and can be used for laser device fabrications. From the energy gap of homo lumo, energetic behavior of LHDP was studied. The dielectric tensor, dielectric loss and conductivity over a range of frequencies and temperatures had been presented.
