Abstract

Abstract: Mediastinitis is one of the life‐threating complications that can occur after cardiac surgery. However, to the best of our knowledge, there has been no report of mediastinitis caused by Mycobacterium chelonae, which is one of the rapidly growing nontuberculous mycobacteria species. As far as we know, our case is the first case describing the curative management for mediastinitis caused by M . chelonae after heart transplantation.
