- A meta-analysis was conducted to assess the efficacy of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) for forensic service users. DBT is believed to be particularly relevant for forensic service users, given the high prevalence of personality disorders, emphasis on reducing risk, and the systemic approach to reducing staff burn out and therapy interfering behaviours. Due to the paucity of research for DBT in forensic settings, only five papers were included in the analysis. The Hunter-Schmidt method was used and demonstrated significant reductions in risk following DBT intervention, with large effect sizes.
