Abstract : An extremely simple sonication method is reported to hydroxylate a hematite surface without affecting its bulk properties. Abstract : An extremely simple sonication method is reported to hydroxylate a hematite surface without affecting its bulk properties. The surface hydroxyl groups serve as a hole collection layer that mediates the transfer of photoinduced holes, resulting in a considerably enhanced photocurrent.
