Abstract

A new series of 15-aryl-2, 3, 4, 15-tetrahydrochromeno[2′, 3′:4, 5]pyrimido[6, 1-b]quinazoline-1, 9-diones was synthesised by the cyclisation of methyl anthranilate with ethyl N-(3-cyano-5-oxo-4-aryl-5, 6, 7, 8-tetrahydro-4H-chromen-2-yl)formimidate derivatives, which were obtained by the reactions of 2-amino-5-oxo-4-aryl-5, 6, 7, 8-tetrahydro-4H-chromene-3-carbonitrile derivatives and triethyl orthoformate. The structure of the 2, 4-dichlorophenyl derivative was further determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
