Abstract

Abstract : For the third quarter of 2018, Switzerland's Clariant International reported sales of CHF1.605 billion (c. €1.42 billion), representing an increase of 5% in local currencies from CHF1.566 billion in 3Q 2017. Sales growth in Swiss francs was lower at 2% because of adverse currency impacts in the quarter. In the first nine months of 2018, sales were 6% higher in both local currency and Swiss franc terms. EBITDA before exceptional items also rose in both time periods, boosted by positive developments in Plastics & Coatings and Care Chemicals.
