- Abstract: Here we report graphene oxide (GO) promoted 3‐component reaction of isatoic anhydride, benzylamines and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as one carbon source. Synthesized GO was well characterized by SEM, XRD, EDX, XPS and thermal stability was confirmed by TGA. A series of 3‐substituted quinazolinone was developed under mild and environmentally friendly conditions in moderate to good yields. A tentative mechanism is also proposed. Abstract : We have developed an efficient, environmentally benign new method of synthesis of 3‐substituted quinazolinones from isatoic anhydride, benzylamines and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as one carbon source, using Graphene oxide (GO) as recyclable green reaction promoter.
