Abstract

Abstract : The Front Cover picture shows the most frequently observed superatomic unit, an icosahedral Au13 (8e) cluster, with an electronic configuration of (1S) 2 (1P) 6, compared to the newly synthesized PdAu8 2+ core, which can be viewed as an oblate superatom with an electronic configuration of (1S) 2 (1P) 4 .
