Abstract

Abstract : We studied the scattering properties of polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) films. We discovered that aligned PDLC film exhibited selective scattering: it scattered incident light with large incident (with respect to film normal direction) but not incident light with small incident angle. We made use of this property of selective scattering to enhance the light efficiency of OLED. With a preliminary try, we achieved a light efficiency increment more than 20%.
