Abstract

Abstract : We propose a dual panel structure with dichroic dye mixed LC to increase a contrast ratio of IPS mode. Dichroic dyes act like a switchable polarizer and its contrast ratio is about 4: 1. Therefore, contrast ratio of panel is improved about 3.8 times and also off‐axis light leakage is dramatically enhanced.
