- Highlights: Analytical model of tube expansion is developed, covering friction, stretching, and bending. Loading history of tube material shows clear stress reversals during the expansion process. Cyclic loading tests are carried out to obtain the mechanical properties of tube material. Combined isotropic and kinematic hardening model is adopted and calibrated based on tests. Influence of hardening model is analyzed by comparing the simulations of two models. Graphical abstract:
