Abstract

Global engineering education activities within the School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leeds take a number of forms. This paper focuses on activities that are integrated within the design and manufacturing curriculum for students studying at Leeds; in addition to this, some students choose to spend a year studying abroad and the International Corporate Leadership Programme provides opportunities for students to carry out vacation work abroad. These activities can be grouped into two sections: Level 1 design project work and Level 3/4 team projects. Finally participation in a new initiative, the PRESTIGE Nomadic Design Academy, is introduced.
