Abstract

Abstract : A new N, N′ ‐bridged corrole derivative has been prepared for the first time via the reaction of diiodomethane with 5, 10, 15‐tris(pentafluorophenyl)corrole. The new macrocycle has been thoroughly characterized by various spectroscopic techniques including single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis. Abstract : A simple, facile and high yielding synthetic procedure of a highly stable N 21, N 22 ‐methylene‐bridged corrole derivative was established starting from its free base corrole analogue. The resulting methylene‐bridged corrole is highly distorted; however, it retains its fluorescence and has the potential to be an ideal platform to synthesize various sitting‐atop metal complexes.
