Abstract

Abstract : ABSTRACT: This article discusses the role of advanced practice providers (APPs) in the interprofessional team management of patients with critical neurologic illnesses and how this role has evolved through the years. There is increasing demand for these types of practitioners, formerly termed midlevel providers. Furthermore, the use of APPs appears to have a positive impact on patient satisfaction, reduced costs, and reduced length of stays.
