Abstract

This issue of the journal contains a selection of papers from the proceedings of the sixth meeting in the series of 'design thinking research symposia', which was held at the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia, in November 2003. The symposium theme was 'expertise in design'. As becomes clear from the definitions, above, expertise is the exercise or deployment of high level skill, knowledge or judgement.
