Abstract

Abstract : Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies of laminated self‐assembled N‐capped diphenylalanine crystals are presented by Lihi Adler‐Abramovich, Ehud Gazit, and co‐workers in article number1704551 . These crystals exhibit well‐ordered crystal packing and diffraction of sub‐Ångstrom resolution, yet display an exceptionally flexible nature. The combination of strength, toughness, and flexibility can be explained in terms of weak interactions between the rigid crystal layers, which are presented in the SEM image shown.
