- Abstract : A polymorph of fully substituted pyridine dicarboxamideL3 has been utilized to explore its cation-sensing ability using voltammetric experiments. Abstract : A polymorph of fully substituted pyridine dicarboxamideL3 has been utilized to explore its cation-sensing ability using voltammetric experiments. It has been observed that among the twelve metals employed for sensing comprising a mixture of transition and alkaline earth metals, a selective response to Cu(ii ) ions is obtained. The sensing phenomenon is further assisted by theoretical studies, which explain the high selectivity ofL3 for Cu(ii ) ions relative to other metal ions considered for experimental study.
