Abstract

Abstract: The effect of resonance time-harmonic wave energy transmission through deep notches and its manifestation in transient wave fields is studied. This effect has been revealed during a wide-range parametric study on the basis of semi-analytical models developed in preceding paper (Glushkov et al., 2015[1] ). Its emergence at the predicted frequencies is experimentally validated using the laser Doppler vibrometry. The analysis within the trapped mode theory provides a better understanding of the resonance phenomena observed.
