- Abstract : The maintenance of nucleocytoplasmic compartmentalization is essential for proper cellular function. Recent studies from the Gage and the Hipp labs report impairments in transport across the nuclear envelope in models of normal and pathological neuronal senescence, providing a mechanistic link between cerebral aging and neurodegenerative diseases.
