- Abstract : Reduction of organic ketones, esters and amides by U III [N(SiMe3 )2 ]3 resulted in a variety of uranium(IV) compounds. The fates of the organic fragments ranged from reversible radical coupling, to bond cleavage, group transfer or one‐electron reduction. In particular, the first example of a stable, charge‐separated amide radical was established, supported by magnetic, UV‐Vis‐NIR, electrochemical and EPR measurements, as well as computational studies.
