- Abstract : A newly developed approach is presented for the fabrication of new generation of Janus nanoparticles (JNPs)—Au/Fe3 O4 @C. These JNPs were functionalized with amino‐poly(ethylene glycol)thiol (NH2 ‐PEG‐SH) and folic acid (FA) on the exposed Au domains, whereas the mesoporous Fe3 O4 @C side served as the drug delivery vehicle of doxorubicin (DOX). The resultant FA‐PEG‐Au/Fe3 O4 @C JNPs were employed as a new theranostic agent for CT and MR imaging‐guided actively targeted chemo‐photothermal synergistic therapy of cancer cells.
