- Oxidative degradation of Ethylenediaminetetracetic acid in aqueous solution using the polymorphs of gallium oxide, γ- and β-Ga2 O3 /H2 O2 system was studied in this paper. Nanophases of γ- and β-Ga2 O3 were synthesised through solution combustion method and characterized using Powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), Thermogravimetry (TG), Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA), and Raman spectra. The photocatalytic degradation efficiency these catalysts was compared with P-25 TiO2 . 5 mg of Ga2 O3 + 0.5 ml of H2 O2 was employed as photocatalyst for the degradation of 1000 mg/l EDTA. Kinetics of EDTA degradation followed the order: β-Ga2 O3 +H2 O2 > γ-Ga2 O3 + H2 O2 > P-25 TiO2 + H2 O2 .
