- Abstract : The Cover shows the unique structure of a fuel cell electrocatalyst fabricated through bottom‐up design, in which sulfonated macromolecules are homogeneously coated on carbon nanotubes, assisted by polybenzimidazole before platinum deposition.In their Full Paper, Z. Yang et al. explain that Nafion ionomer can be removed from membrane electrode assembly fabrication as protons are efficiently delivered by sulfonated macromolecules, which form a continuous network in the catalyst layer. The results show that without Nafion ionomer on platinum nanoparticles, reactants directly react with platinum resulting in high fuel cell performance.
