Abstract

Highlights: Except for animal studies, almost no data exist about the use of modern melanoma therapy with checkpoint inhibitors during pregnancy. The use of modern immunotherapy concepts is critical because many parallel mechanisms exist between immunotolerance towards malignant melanoma cells and foetal cells. We describe the outcome of the application of ipilimumab and nivolumab combination therapy in an advanced melanoma patient during her second trimester. Revelation of this dramatic non-standard clinical situation may help clinicians and patients in decision-making when facing similar cases.
