Abstract

Abstract : Cover illustration: This schematic image indicates the presence of transposons in bacteria. Some strains of Escherichia coli contain several plasmids that are carrier of Tn 10 . Tn 10 is carrier of resistance genes to tetracycline. The expression of the tetA gene in the Tn 10 transposon causes E. coli resistance to tetracycline. The tetA, tetC, and tetD genes act as tetracycline efflux genes and tetR is the repressor of the tetracycline resistance genes.
