- Abstract: Biogas plants play a crucial role in the renewable technology sector because they are capable to continuously deliver electricity and heat independent of the weather conditions. For a constant good quality and quantity the operating parameters of the biogas have to be controlled. For this currently only ex-situ measurement system are available. These systems are expensive and do not measure continuously. He we present an online measurement system for the main components of biogas, which are methane (CH4 ) and carbon dioxide (CO2 ). This system uses a two chamber LED-photoacoustic detection scheme, including sensors for humidity, temperature and pressure.
