- Graphical abstract: Abstract: A palladium NHC complex is used to catalyze the addition of ortho iodophenols to diazabicyclic alkenes. The product cyclopenta[ b ]benzofurans are then derivatized by the Suzuki reaction, and reduction of the NN bond and followed by conversion of the amines into amides.
