- Abstract : Natalie Artzi and co‐workers describe how matrix‐embedded endothelial cells (MEEC) attain a progenitor‐like phenotype as defined by comparisons of secretome, phenotype, and genetic fingerprint of MEECs with that of endothelial progenitor cells, in article number1700057 . The cover shows MEECs (green) wrapping around the denatured collagen structure (red) of the matrix, recapitulating in vivo endothelial structure much more closely than endothelial cells grown on 2D surfaces.
