- Graphical abstract: Highlights: Recent developments in the field of radiolabelled peptides for cancer imaging. CuAAC and cyclooctyne chemistry to attach prosthetic groups. Direct labelling using isotope exchange with Si-, B- and Al-fluorides. Novel radiometal chelators. Fluorine-18, carbon-11, gallium-68 and copper-64 isotopes. Abstract: This digest highlights recent developments in the field of molecular imaging of cancer using peptide-based targeting entities. Syntheses of novel radiolabelled prosthetic groups and new radiolabelled peptide conjugates are highlighted. This review focuses on developments made using positron emission tomography isotopes such as fluorine-18, carbon-11, gallium-68 and copper-64 within the last 5 years.
