- Abstract : The majority of HPV‐related cancers are caused by HPV 16 and HPV 18, but the distribution of these two viral types vary depending on race and socioeconomic status as well as the particular cancer type (cervix versus other). Ultimately, access to preventative care, including widespread pap smear screening for cervical cancer precursors and HPV vaccination, is the answer to eradicating HPV‐related disease.
