Abstract

Abstract : In a utopian world, the decision of which job to take (or how long to stay in it) would be motivated by purely intrinsic reasons. However, this unfortunately isn't the reality. In fact, for many in student affairs, the financial compensation serves as the primary driver in career choices. Although student affairs professionals certainly don't choose this field purely for the money (as they would clearly be better off in other professions if their main goal is a high income), the bottom line is that they do need to be able to provide for themselves and their families.
