- Abstract: A series of color tunable green–white emitting Li3 Ba2 Y2.9− y Tb0.1 Eu y (WO4 )8 phosphors was synthesized via a conventional high-temperature solid-state reaction method. Photoluminescence (PL) spectra have demonstrated that under the excitation of 290 nm, Tb 3+ –Eu 3+ co-doped Li3 Ba2 Y3 (WO4 )8 phosphor emits a white light, consisting of three typical emission bands of blue from substrate, green from Tb 3+ and red from Eu 3+ . The luminescent colors can be tuned by adjusting the relative doping ratios of Tb 3+ and Eu 3+ in Li3 Ba2 Y3 (WO4 )8 phosphor, leading to the changes in spectral components. The integrated emission intensities of Li3 Ba2 Y2.7 Tb0.1 Eu0.2 (WO4 )8 phosphor under the excitation of 290 nm decreased to 73% of the initial intensities at room temperature after the temperature was increased to 393 K, which indicates that this phosphor has a good thermal stability. The above results indicate that Li3 Ba2 Y2.9− y Tb0.1 Eu y (WO4 )8 phosphor may have a potential application for white LEDs.
