- Abstract: Neutron diffraction technique was applied to study phase transitions in Fe-27 at.% Ga alloys at instant heating and subsequent cooling in the 20–980 °C temperature range. The following sequence of phase transitions D03 → L12 → D019 → A2 was recorded at heating and A2 → D019 → L12 at cooling. This transition sequence determines temperature dependencies of elastic and magnetic properties. The only D03 → L12 transition generates internal stresses due to a different rate of an increase in the lattice parameter with temperature. This effect is resulted in the internal friction transient effect. Graphical abstract: Highlights: Neutron diffraction technique is applied to study in situ phase transitions in Fe-27 at.% Ga.
