Abstract

Abstract : LaSrSiO3 N and LaBaSiO3 N are the first examples of nitride-based alkaline earth orthosilicates with β-K2 SO4 structure, and they show red-orange luminescence after activation with Eu 2+ . The analogous compound LaEuSiO3 N is, in addition to a red phosphor material, a soft ferromagnet with a Curie temperature of 3 K. Abstract : The new compounds LaSrSiO3 N and LaBaSiO3 N activated with Eu 2+ are orange-red light-emitting luminescent materials under excitation in the UV-blue range. They represent the first examples of stoichiometric alkaline earth oxynitridosilicates with a β-K2 SO4 structure. The isostructural compound LaEuSiO3 N is ferromagnetic with a Curie temperature of 3 K and also shows red luminescence ( λ max = 705 nm) under excitation at 405 nm.
