Abstract

Abstract: Temporary pacing wire insertion is a potentially life-saving procedure. A temporary pacing wire is most commonly inserted as an emergency procedure but can be electively inserted to cover surgery. Access is via a venous sheath to the right ventricular apex. Complications include those related to venous access, infection and perforation of the heart by the lead.
