Abstract

Abstract : Recent advances in nanofabrication enable the realization of various extremely deep‐sub‐wavelength structures. Building upon the fundamental progress of light trapping and confinement strategies, new applications of boosted light–matter interaction within extremely small dimensions received extensive research efforts, as reviewed by Yun Xu, Dengxin Ji, Qiaoqiang Gan and co‐workers in article number1800444 . The cover image conceptually highlights representative designs of plasmonic metamaterial structures with extremely small features that are used to boost the light–matter interaction.
