Abstract

Abstract : This study reported the successful synthesis of Zn1– x Mn x S nanowires with completely controlled compositions (0 ≤ x ≤ 1); the x values could be well controlled by tuning the feeding ratio of [(C4 H9 )2 NCS2 ]2 Zn to [(C4 H9 )2 NCS2 ]2 Mn precursors. Abstract : This study reported the successful synthesis of Zn1– x Mn x S nanowires with completely controlled compositions (0 ≤ x ≤ 1); the x values could be well controlled by tuning the feeding ratio of [(C4 H9 )2 NCS2 ]2 Zn to [(C4 H9 )2 NCS2 ]2 Mn precursors. The bandgaps of Zn1− x Mn x S nanowires showed nonlinear bowing character versus the composition. This result provided an effective route for designing Mn-based ternary chalcogenide nanowires with specific bandgaps, which is significant for their better application in photonics and spintronics.
