- Abstract: In the Carbon2Chem® joint research project, mathematical models are involved to simulate operation scenarios of cross‐industrial networks, especially chemical plants implemented in a steel mill environment. In order to achieve an optimal model‐based system integration approach, a distributed co‐simulation environment is introduced. In particular this enables model suppliers and integrators to exchange co‐simulation units without having to disclose sensitive information and intellectual property. Here, the architecture and preliminary results of such an environment which is based on a classical waveform relaxation algorithm are described. Abstract : Distributed, mathematical modeling and simulation is a central element in system integration in the joint project Carbon2Chem. As a result, operating scenarios and system concepts can be analyzed and optimized. The article describes the architecture and presents preliminary results of such a distributed simulation environment based on a classical waveform relaxation algorithm.
