- Abstract : Carbide SERS substrates: nearly monodispersed TaC nanoparticles with a strong plasma resonance effect are synthesized via a magnesium thermal reduction process. As non-noble metal SERS substrates, they offer high sensitivity, outstanding stability, and excellent recyclability. Abstract : We demonstrate for the first time that metallic carbide nanoparticles with a strong localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) effect could be used as SERS substrates to detect trace substances. They achieve a noble metal-comparable enhancement factor of 6.4 × 10 7 .
