Abstract

Graphical abstract: Highlights: Three new furanopyridine alkaloids were isolated from Glycosmis pentaphylla . All the new compounds were racemates. An unusual HMBC phenomenon involved J 5 and J 6 remote correlation were observed. Abstract: Three new furanopyridine alkaloids, namely glypenfurans A–C (1 –3 ), were isolated from the leaves of Glycosmis pentaphylla together with six known furoquinoline alkaloids. Their structures were determined by extensive spectral analysis (UV, IR, MS, 1D and 2D NMR).
