The absolute configurations of were assigned by computational methods and confirmed by the Mosher's method. The inhibitory effects of compounds1 and2 on fibronectin secretion were evaluated. Abstract: Petchiethers A (1 ) and B (2 ), two novel meroterpenoids respectively with a 14- or 15-membered ring were isolated from the fruiting bodies of Ganoderma petchii . Their structures were identified by spectroscopic data. The absolute configurations of compounds1 and2 were assigned by computational methods. In particular, the stereochemistry of1 was further confirmed by the Mosher's method. The inhibitory effects of compounds1 and2 on fibronectin secretion were evaluated by using the ELISA technique in TGF-β1-induced rat kidney tubular epithelial cells. The results show that these substances could inhibit fibronectin production in a dose-dependent manner, indicating their potential on kidney protection.
